Orthogonal frequency‐division multiplexing‐based signal design for a dual‐function radar‐communications system using circulating code array

In this study, a dual-function radar-communications (DFRC) system based on the circulating code array is presented to address contradiction between radar and communications in beam scanning coverage. Processed orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) signal transmitted by as base improve data rate. Following spatial angle of communication receiver, symbols are modulated part OFDM subcarriers occupying specific frequency band. A significant property array, which provides relationship baseband angles, implements basis for safe telecommunication transmission towards cooperative receiver demodulation. Moreover, transmits same introduces time interval adjacent elements. Therefore, complex problems multi-dimensional design traditional multiple-input-multiple-output-based DFRC transformed into simple design. Finally, an omnidirectional coverage pattern obtained. Thus, whether mainlobe or sidelobe beam, connection can be established designed users. The performance described verified through theoretical analysis simulations.
